Welcome to West & Central Scotland RDAAt Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), we work with horses and ponies (and the occasional donkey) to offer children and adults with a wide range of disabilities opportunities for therapy, achievement and enjoyment. Our motto is "It's What You Can Do That Counts"
The physical benefits of RDA activities, such as riding and carriage-driving, include improved balance, core strength and mobility. We also see vast improvements in mental health and wellbeing, confidence and communication skills. Transforming Lives Across the UK

What We DoThe West & Central Scotland Region provides support, advice, training and promotional activities for 20 RDA member groups across Argyll, Ayrshire, Central Scotland and Perthshire. Additionally, we run Regional Competitions to provide our members the opportunity to qualify to compete at the National Championships at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, the biggest para-equestrian event of its kind in the world (bigger than the Paralympics and Para World Championships combined). In our region around 600 hardworking volunteers deliver RDA's life- changing activities to over 800 disabled children and adults every year.

We have been carrying out our life-changing activities for over 50 years, and take great pride in the exceptional standard of our coaches and volunteers.
We offer activities for all age groups and, wherever possible, to people with any disability – and you’re just as likely to find an RDA Group in an urban setting as a rural one across West & Central Scotland. We rely entirely on voluntary help, donations and legacies to deliver our services. |
